Who We Are
As Episcopalians, we are members of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America. The Episcopal Church is comprised of about three million worshipers in about 7500 congregations in 100 diocese across the United States. The head of the national Episcopal Church is the Presiding Bishop. Episcopal means "bishop" in Greek, and the Episcopal Church is governed in part by its bishops. The Episcopal Church is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion, which is comprised of 38 Provinces - or regions - throughout the world. The head of the Anglican Communion is the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Our congregation is a part of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. We are a growing congregation eager to welcome all who seek a church family. We want to be known as an inclusive and affirmative congregation. This means we at St. Tim's want to include you in our church family. St. Tim's wants to affirm you and your life as an important part of God's wonderful creation.
